These are designed to be full dividers, spanning across the tank and from the bottom to the rim. There is approximately 1/16" of space between the divider and the side walls or bottom of the tank when the divider is centered. Actual gap can vary depending on your specific tank. The tabbed design allows the divider to hang from the tank rim for quick installation and easy side to side adjustment. Installation using aquarium safe silicone provides a sealed divider between chambers that won't move during tank cleaning or when pushed against by tank inhabitants.
The tabbed design will interfere with most tank lids so these are not recommended for tanks that require lids that sit in the recessed tank rim lip. For tanks with lids we also make suction cup and silicone install dividers which will not interfere with your tank lid.

Installation is simple - drop the divider into the tank and rotate the slots onto the tank rim.
NOTE: This is designed specifically for Aqueon® or Imagitarium™ glass aquariums as noted in the drop downs. Aqueon divders are not compatible with Imagitarium tanks or visa versa nor are either compatible with any other tank brand. If your tank is not an Aqueon or Imagitarium or you don't know for sure, please contact us prior to ordering with your tank inside dimensions. To measure the inside, use calipers or trim a dowel rod or rigid piece of cardboard until it fits between the front and back glass of the tank while parallel to the bottom. Message us with that length and we can confirm if it will fit.
