ezBuild Pro Sump Kits

Build a full featured sump in half the time of competing kits.

ezBuild Sock Baffle

Our ezBuild sock baffle is the only one on the market that comes pre-assembled using acrylic cement. This saves you significant assembly time and negates the need to buy and use acrylic cement on your own. Available in left and right hand configurations.

Side Entry Inlets

The sock panels form a side chamber for the water to enter the sump. It then flows up and over the sock plate and into the socks. This configuration allows the socks to be changed with the return pump running.

Adjustable Water Depth

The running depth o the sump can be easily adjusted with two nylon thumbscrews.

Secondary Filtration

Media stands in the bubble trap can support filter foam or other filtration substrates for a final polish before the water enters the return chamber.

Made in USA

All of our kits are made with pride upon order right here in our shop in Headland, Alabama USA.

Items You'll Need for this Build
  • A glass aquarium, choose a kit to match the brand/size of tank you have
  • Aquarium safe silicone (1 - 2 10.1 oz tubes depending on kit size)
  • A Caulk Gun
  • Caulking extension tips
  • Painter's tape
  • A black permanent marker
  • A carpenter's square
  • Isopropyl alcohol (92% works best)
  • A tape measure
  • Rubber gloves

How to Install Your Kit

Quick tip: apply painters tape 1/4" - 3/8" on either side of your marker lines.  Install the baffles, smooth the silicone over the tape and remove the tape before the silicone cures.

Step 1

Drop the sock baffle into the your tank.

Step 2

Use a black permanent marker (Sharpie) to draw lines on the outside of the tank glass where the baffle edges touch.

Step 3

Slide the baffle back and apply a bead of silicone on the inside glass of the tank along the center of the lines drawn on the outside

Step 4

Tilt the sock baffle back and slide it back into position.  Tilt it back down and press firmly so the baffle edges seat into the silicone beads.

Step 5

Silicone along the baffle edges inside the sock/inlet area.  Using caulk tube extensions for this can be helpful.

Step 6

Silicone along the backside edges.

Step 7

Repeat the process with the remaining baffles.  For those, use a tape measure to space both sides evenly and a carpenter's square to keep them perpendicular to the bottom. After all the baffles are installed, allow the silicone to cure 24 hours. Remove marker lines from the glass with Isopropyl alcohol.
